A call to Generosity

We believe spirituality cannot be separated from generosity. The needs of our city and of the world are impossible to ignore. The teachings of Jesus implore us to give to those in need and to commit ourselves to an ethic of generosity. The scriptures say that God loves a cheerful giver, not because the church's needs are met, but because it creates joy and love in God and us.

Jesus said, "...I will build my church"

The story of our church in Tribeca began with this question: "How can we join God's work in the world, this city, this neighborhood?" Jesus promised his disciples that he would build something, specifically a community he called the church. We believe this work of church-building continues to this day. As we stand at the cusp of a new chapter of independence as a church, we ask that question afresh.

How can we join in God's work to build the church?

In April of 2017 we announced that every Trinity Grace parish was becoming independent and we have been pursuing that exiting goal over the past several months. Our mission is to help New Yorkers grow in love by practicing the way of Jesus for the good of the city. We believe the years to come will see thousands of lives touched by this mission and yet we need to build a firm financial foundation to see this mission advanced.

How can I participate?

The Build My Church campaign has two simple initiatives.

The BEDROCK Initiative

The Bedrock initiative is a 300K capital raise that will lay the strong foundation of working capital we need as a church, cover the one time costs associated with this transition and, if successful, seed the expansion of important ministries like Kids, Youth, Mercy and Justice Ministries. We are asking for 100% participation for this initiative. Whether you commit $25,000 or $25, your gift will help us lay this necessary foundation for the future of our church.

We ask that all Bedrock gifts be made over and above your planned tithes and offerings this year. Our campaign will not be successful if it undermines our 2017 operations budget.

The BUILDER'S Initiative

The Builder's Initiative is an invitation to become subscriber or to increase your subscription. Subscription giving allows us to be better stewards of our resources, providing financial visibility and sustainability throughout the year. Our goal is to grow from 63 subscribers to 100 subscribers and for these subscriptions to cover 50% of our monthly expenses as a church. Everyone can participate in this simple yet vital commitment whether it is $20 per month or $2,000 per month.
