HELPING CHILDREN GROW IN LOVE
Children have an innate sense of the presence of God. We see our role as a church as guiding and nurturing that sense in our children through Sunday programming as well as training and encouraging families to foster a rich spirituality in the home.
OUR SUNDAY PROGRAM :: GODLY PLAY
We are proud to offer a Montessori-based program called Godly Play.
The Godly Play approach helps children explore their faith through story, to gain religious language and to enhance their spiritual experience though wonder and play. Based on Montessori principles and developed using a spiral curriculum, our program serves children from pre-school through 5th grade. Storytellers and Helpers are highly trained in the Montessori method and in facilitating a safe, nurturing environment. Come join us!
A Nursery is provided for infants and toddlers focused on providing a a safe, loving environment for free play and music. Our team reads Scripture and prays for children as they are cared for.
WHAT TO EXPECT
When you enter the building you will see a Trinity Grace Church banner that points you toward our Kid’s Ministry Classrooms. If your child is an infant or toddler, you may check them in on the first floor in our Kid’s Ministry area. Once you’ve made your way to our Kid’s ministry area you will find a check-in desk with a Kid’s Ministry Helper wearing a blue apron. Here your child can be registered for the first time or simply checked-in with a Kid’s Ministry Helper. Your child will have a unique sticker ID printed and placed on their back with a matching ID given to you. For your child’s safety we require this matching ID for pick-up. We ask that you bring a bag with diapers, wipes, bottles or water bottle for your child. You can take your child to their classroom door where they will be received by a Children’s Ministry Helper.
It is perfectly normal for a child to experience separation anxiety. Our team is trained to nurture and care for your child upon drop off at the classroom door. If the child is inconsolable for more than 15 minutes, a member of our team will notify you for assistance. Our experience has shown that children do best when parents do not linger in the classroom, waiting for a child to feel comfortable. We kindly ask that you say goodbye to your child at the door and trust our team to take great care of your child.
If your child is 3 years old thru 5th grade, we encourage you to bring them to the 2nd floor to join you for the first 20 minutes of our worship service. We encourage our children to participate in the worship gathering with their families. They are an important part of the church community and it is healthy for our adults and children to connect with each other in this environment. The same check-in process takes place on the 2nd floor. Children are greeted by a Kid’s Ministry Helper in a blue apron and either registered for the first time or checked-in and given a printed sticker with a unique ID and matching sticker for the parent/guardian. At the appropriate time, our kids are dismissed. Kid’s Ministry Helpers stand in the back of the worship auditorium to gather the children together and lead them downstairs to experience our Montessori program, Godly Play.
